Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

Gran Canaria, Canary Islands.
Gay and Lesbian Hotels, Inns and Guest Houses - Reviews and Ratings. Gay and Lesbian Travel
Gran Canaria forms part of the Canary Islands along with Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gomera, La Palma and Hierro. The island is located off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. Gran Canaria is also known as the "continent in miniature" with volcanic mountains at its center. The sub-tropical climate of Gran Canaria remains constant all year round but most rain falls in January. The rich soil supports groves of bananas, oranges, coffee, dates, sugarcane and tobacco.
Gran Canaria’s gay and lesbian hotels, inns and resorts are mostly located in the east of the island. Since the 1950’s the Canaries have been as a tourist haven. The tourism industry continues to grow rapidly through the present day.
If you want to be in the center of gay life, then head for Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés in the south of the island. You’ll have little more to do than relax on the beach all day and party by night. Las Palmas offers a nice alternative if you like to mix the fun with some real Spanish/Canarian culture, including museums, galleries, theatre, opera, classical and popular concerts.
So whether you're looking for fun, adventure, romance or just relaxation, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands is the perfect destination for the gay and lesbian traveler.
