Kusadasi, Aydin, Turkey.
Gay and Lesbian Hotels, Inns and Guest Houses - Reviews and Ratings. Gay and Lesbian Travel.

Kusadasi is a major resort town on the Aegean coast of Turkey, near the ancient city of Ephesus, 56 miles south of Izmir and a short distance from the island of Samos. Because of it’s many beaches and the fact the Kusadasi is a key destination for cruise ships traveling through the Aegean Islands, it has become and extremely popular gay and lesbian destination; a bit like South Beach, Florida.

Kusadasi is perfectly located for gay and lesbian travelers seeking a taste of history whilst getting a taste of the Mediterranean and Turkish lifestyle. Kusadasi offers a wide choice of gay hotels and gay-friendly, inns and guesthouses, as well as gay friendly hotels, inns, guesthouses and apartments for the gay and lesbian traveler. Travelers can choose from deluxe high-rise beachfront resorts with all the trimmings, to smaller quieter hotels. Kusadasi also has a full range of dining choices from seafood to traditional Turkish cuisine and prices range from budget to luxury.

Although there is little of historical interest in Kusadasi itself, its popularity comes from the many hotels, restaurants, souvenir and carpet shops, and vibrant nightlife that pulsates until the early hours of the morning. The Kale district, with its traditional houses and narrow streets gives some indication of what the town used to be like. The Bazaar offers one of the most diversed shopping experiences in Turkey. Jewelery, carpet and leather shops abound and bargaining is a must, just don’t insult the store keeper with a silly offer.

To get to the less crowded town beaches, it is worth thinking about hiring a car. The most famous beach is Kadinlar Plaji, about a mile south of the town, dominated by huge hotels. It can get very crowded in summer. There are several small beaches further south. 19 miles south of Kusadasi towards the end of Kusadasi Bay, on the Dilek Peninsula, the National Park is one of the most preserved places in Turkey. Dense pine forests reach down to the beaches and the crystal clear sea. in these beaches. Other beaches worth exploring are Long Beach, a 15 minute drive from Kusadasi and Green beach only 5 minutes drive from the center of town. It's a small sandy beach popular with townies at weekends. Ladies Beach is also a very popular sandy beach. Cafes and restaurants are just across the street from the beach and it gets extremely crowded at weekends

But no vacation in Kusadasi is complete without spending a little time exploring the wealth of ancient history that abounds in the region. Perhaps the most famous is the Greek port of Ephesus, dating from the reign of Alexander the Great. Ephesus is considered one of the most important centers not only in Western Anatolian civilization but also in the history of world civilization.

Other sites well worth visiting are the Kusadasi Fortress built on an isle in front of the town; the Temple of Artemis counted as one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World; the Library and tomb of Celcus famous for the four symbols, wisdom, knowledge, destiny and virtue; the 4th century Theatre, the largest theatre structure in Turkey that could seat 24,000 spectators; and the Temple of Hadrian.

So, if you’re a gay or lesbian traveler looking for an exciting, fun, sun, cultural and interesting vacation, then Kusadasi, Turkey is the place for you.
