Gay Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, Florida

Daytona Beach Gay and Lesbian Hotels, Inns and Guest Houses - Reviews and Ratings.

Daytona Beach, Florida, is considered one of the world's most famous destinations for spring breakers, gay and lesbian bikers and racing enthusiasts alike. This year-round resort is home to the Daytona International Speedway, the old Daytona Beach Road Course, the headquarters of NASCAR. Every year, well over 250,000 NASCAR fans descend on the town in February for Speedweeks for the season opening Daytona 500. Other races include Bike Week in March, Black College Reunion in March and April, the NASCAR Coke Zero 400 in July, and Biketoberfest in October. But Daytona Beach has another side. If you love a beautiful wide beach with big waves that’s not crowded at all, delicious seafood, a casual attitude that prefers dressing-down to dressing-up, then Daytona Beach has lots to offer the gay and lesbian traveler. The gay population of Daytona is not large, but there are several gay bars such as Rumors to hang out in and gay-friendly restaurants to enjoy.

Daytona Beach has limited gay specific hotels and guesthouses but there are several gay friendly hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfast accommodations to choose from. Rates are reasonable, much more expensive during the race events, and amenities vary from budget to deluxe, so there is ample choice for the gay and lesbian traveler.

There’s always something whilst staying in Daytona Beach. If you’re a daredevil at heart, buy 3 laps in a racecar going over 150 mph on the racetrack as the passenger of an experienced driver. For those seeking something less hair-raising go deep sea fishing off the Atlantic coast. Orlando’s many theme parks are just an hour away and the Kennedy Space Center to the south and Historic St. Augustine to the north are each less than an hour away. On the way, visit the completely remodeled Marineland, the giant salt water aquarium and in the winter, go and swim with the manatees on the St. Johns River park.

So for the gay and lesbian traveler who enjoyed the thrill of motor and bike racing, or seeking a base to visit some of Florida’s most famous tourist attractions, then Daytona Beach is well worth considering and has much to offer.
