Eugene, Oregon

Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Gay and Lesbian Hotels, Inns and Guest Houses - Reviews and Ratings. Gay and Lesbian Travel.

Eugene, Oregon is known for its unique, exciting blend of arts, culture, education, scenic beauty, and passion for recreation. The Willamette and McKenzie rivers are magnets for water sports and recreation, and more than 100 parks and 2,600 acres of open space offer the perfect settings for any outdoor activity you can imagine. Eugene is also an arts and culture destination for gay and lesbian travelers, offering international festivals, performances and shows year-round. The Hult Center for the Performing Arts anchors the arts scene with two world-class theaters. Downtown Eugene is a great place to shop, dine and “people watch” with blocks of art galleries, restaurants and boutique shops.

Eugene has a great selection of gay and gay friendly hotels, inns and guesthouses for the gay and lesbian traveler to choose from. Prices and amenities vary from place to place but there is enough choice for even the most discerning gay and lesbian traveler.

Eugene has a significant population of people in pursuit of alternative ideas, and a large, ‘youthful’ hippie population. There is also a significant population of outdoor enthusiasts and young retirees from California, the Northeast and elsewhere. With the University of Oregon and Lane Community College, Eugene is also a center for higher learning and top-notch athletic events from football at Autzen Stadium to track and field at historic Hayward Field.

Some of the events to enjoy through the year are the annual Eugene Celebration, a three-day block party that takes place in the downtown area August and September; the Art and Vineyard festival in early July; Eugene's Saturday Market, founded in 1970 and open every Saturday from April through November, the Oregon Bach Festival and the Oregon Festival of American Music takes place in early summer.

So, whether you come for the
scenic beauty, culture, education or sports, Eugene has it all for the gay and lesbian traveler. They don’t call Eugene, Oregon the “World’s Greatest City of the Arts & Outdoors” for nothing!
