London has to much to see and do that a short visit will only skirt the surface of this great city. The West End is where you'll find most of the theatres, and Covent Garden for the Opera House, Neal’s Yard, and lots of designer and alternative shopping. Nearby Soho is the heart of Gay London, and where you'll find plenty of nightlife, bars and restaurants.
London’s gay and lesbian accommodation is surprisingly limited but there is ample gay friendly hotels and guesthouses to choose from ranging in price and luxuriousness.
London’s Oxford Street and Regent Street are the principal shopping centers. Don't miss Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, and the adjacent National Gallery and Portrait Gallery. Westminster is the home of both the Government (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben) and the Royal Family (Buckingham Palace: if the Royal Standard flag's flying, the Queen’s at home!). The historic and financial core of London is the City and here you'll find the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and St. Paul's Cathedral
Forget driving in London. The city is well served by the extensive Underground system (known as the Tube), buses, and taxis. Ride the London Eye, the world's largest observation wheel, on the south bank of the River Thames, and see the whole city from up high.
And bring comfortable shoes.You'll do a lot of walking!
