I'm being transferred to our London UK office for 6 months and I was hoping someone could give me advise about the gay scene there. I'm staying in the company apartment in central London and I want to know which are the best clubs to go to - for dancing and also for fun? I'm pretty open to most scenes. Are there any decent sauna's in that area? I've heard that Soho is the major gay district, is this true? Also, can anyone recommend a really good gym/health club? Any information would be great. Thanks.

I've been to London on a couple of occasions, and the neighborhood around Vauxhall has some interesting venues. I suggest you try the Vauxhall Tavern. If you have plenty of late night stamina you might also try Fire Nightclub. Best of luck!

The main gay area in Central London is the Soho area especially around Old Compton Street. There you will find a wide range of bars and restaurants to suit most ages and tastes. If you're into clubbing try G.A.Y. which is in the old Heaven venue near (actually underneath and at the back of) Charing Cross Station. Like a lot of international western cities, greater tolerance over the years has meant that an increasing number of venues are mixed, but around Soho the mixture is predominantly gay.

I used to live in London before being relocated to NYC on business. Soho is the gay center of the city. Restaurants, bars, clubs, men - a great place to get into the gay scene. It's also the center of the theater district and across the road from Convent Garden and Neal's Yard. Vauxhall Bridge has some great clubs. Also check out the gay scene in Brighton which is only an hour from London by train.
