Spin - Fun, friendly and energetic. Several different levels often porn stars or strippers dancing around. No Cover or Small Cover Charge

Hydrate - Dark and misty with good top 40s dance remixes. Open late night after other clubs close. Cover

Minibar - One of my favorite places. Chic and trendy decor with fabulous music creates a truly stunning space! Not quite as outgoingly friendly but definitely worth checking out! No Cover Charge

Sidetrax - One of the larger spaces like Spin with several different levels and spaces. Check out the roof top. Host different theme nights so check before planning to attend. No Cover Charge

Roscoe's - Seems like a Chicago Gay institution. Fun enough, especially when there is a wet underwear contest. Nothing over the top. No Cover Charge

Cocktail - More of a bar lounge. No Cover Charge

Circut - Another afterhours club, never went because it had a trashier crowd hanging outside. From what I heard seemed to be reflective of what you would find on the inside. Cover Charge

Charlies - Low key afterhours club. Fun dance music. Was not too busy when I was there but it is probably a good alternative if Hydrate is too busy for you. No Cover Charge

There are definitely a few other places on Halsted but this is a list of the major ones. Overall Chicago nightlife is fun and not that serious, so relax and have fun.

There are also gay bars in Andersonville; a quick cab ride to the NW of Boystown. Visit Marty's Martini Bar at 1511 W. Balmoral, kitty corner from Hamburger Mary's. The bar is small but friendly with mixed clientele. Atmosphere, Mary's Attic and Star Gaze (mainly Lesbian) are just aorund the corner on N. Clark St. (North of Foster) A new country themed gay bar has opened just West of Clark on Bryn Mawr Ave., but it's name escapes me at the moment. The staff were friendly and the music was fine for those liking Country Music. There are great ethnic restaurants here as well such as Andies, Ole Ole and Calo's. There are othe gay bars throughout the city and suburbs that are options if you are staying outside the Lakeview neighborhood.
