Just found this site, pretty neat! We're planning a winter vacation to Key West and wondered if anyone had any information of the best place to stay. We want gay friendly, clothing optional, easy walk to restaurants, clubs etc. We were also wondering if it's true that Key West is not so gay friendly as it used to be. One of our friends told us that there have been gay bashings there. So, it is a safe place for two gay men to visit? Let us know. Thanks.

I just came back from my vacation to Fort Lauderdale and Key West. You´re right, Key West has changed a bit. It´s not that special any more but still ok. The same drag queens are on Aqua as on Bourbon... The prices of the guest houses are pretty high - even off season. We stayed at the Coconut Grove/Oasis/Coral Tree Inn (if you´re in one of these, you can use the facilities of all 3, all of them are clothing optional). Island house should be even better but also more expensive. The best beach @ Zach Taylor state park is not clothing optional. Haven´t heared about recent gay bashings.
