Good place, great breakfast
The location was great for me. It is an easy walk from the Central Station and even closer to the Beurs van Berlage where I was attending a conference. Be sure to have a mobile phone (one that uses the GSM standard) as you will most likely need that to contact the owners by phone when you arrive. It would have been a great hassel if I did not have one.The nearest pay phone I saw is a few blocks away.

I had the room in the back so it was very quiet. They have heavy double glazing so the canal side room is probably OK as well except if it is so hot you need to leave the windows open. (No a/c and probably rarely needed.) There was a small fan in my room and that should usually make one comfortable.

It is right in the middle of the red light district. One gay bar is nearby. I don’t know about others. Mine was a work oriented trip. The streets were not noticeably noisy in spite of the number of people at night. Loud, boisterous people might exist but I don’t remember seeing any. Either day or night there is very little traffic as the streets are very narrow.

I had room 2 and as you can see the sink is next to the bed. The layout made maximum use of a reasonable space. The toilet is in a little compartment. The shower is next to it and the clear shower door opens directly into the room. Nice idea if you want to see you partner lather up in the shower! J

A very full, complete Dutch breakfast of cheese, cold cuts, a hard boiled egg, a piece of fruit, and a selection of bread, butter, and jams plus coffee or tea or hot chocolate. Room also has a tea kettle.

Everything was very clean. It appeared that the satellite dish for English language channels needed a little repositioning. But that was the only thing that didn’t work exactly as it should.

Room 1 which is a bit larger might be better for a couple if you want a bit more space.

I can definitely recommend this place. Check out their website for more information. www.friendzz.com.
