Room with a sea view
This is the third hotel we have stayed at in Sitge's since our recommendation by a friend way back in the late 90's. Sitges has always held a special place in our heart, our honeymoon in 2006 was a repeat booking at the Hotel Romantic.
After scouring trip advisor and looking at what value the English Pound could bring us, we stumbled upon Hotel Los Globos.
The communication we received by the owners was second to none, all my questions answered and with such a speedy response.
After getting to Sitges and my poor choice of onward travel (Mons Bus) from the airport we eventually found the Hotel Los Globos.
The best way of finding the hotel we eventually found was to head down to the sea front and then walk along the promenade, then there is a sign post showing the hotel.
We were greeted courteously by one of the owner's who explained how to use the Key Card to open the doors to the hotel, after the hotel closes at 23:30 p.m. which I feel gives the traveller/occupant some level of privacy when they returned in the evening. We were also given information on when breakfast started and finished. Breakfast finished at 11.30 am which we found to be later than some of the other hotels we have stayed at.
Our room No 20 had a lovely view of the ocean but partially obscured between some other private residences.
The room was well equipped; TV, private bathroom, room safe, hair dryer and air conditioning which was a blessing!
One of the downsides to the location of the hotel was the walk into the centre of Sitges and the hub of; Gay bar's, restaurants and cafe's. This hotel is situated a 7-10 minute walk away in the quieter suburbs, which in its self for us was peaceful in the late evenings and gave us the opportunity to work off a few pounds after our meals at the many fabulous restaurants, Monroe's in particular!
The hotel did seem a little tired round the edges, but overall we were very pleased with our stay and for value for money would recommend to the GLBT community.
Another point I would like to make regarding this stay is that whenever we have stayed at hotels throughout our traveling years we have never encountered the warmth and hospitality that Phillipe and Eric have offered. Thank you for our stay and our leaving gift.
