great location and service
Driving up to the area of town where the hotel is located-Olas Altas- I felt the warm welcoming aura of the old town charm; the hotel is on the same street as the Las Muertos pier only a block away from the beach and right in the heart of "gay town". Gabriel was nothing less than a welcoming smile and twinkling eyes, check in was a breeze. The room was easy access to the pool and bar. Our king size bed was cool to the touch and very comfortable. After settling down, my partner and I went for a stroll around town, the surrounding blocks are buzzing with activity and the locals are very friendly- although they didn't seem to mind the PDA, we restricted it to holding hands. The bars, clubs and great restaurants are just a few blocks away from the hotel. The gay beach is also a stroll down hill. We took it easy the first day and asked about things to do around town. Everyone was very helpful but not as informative as the hotel staff. They had all the correct information regards excursions, dinner reservations and general directions.
The next day we woke to friendly chatter in the court yard, we threw on some shorts and went down to check it out. There was a friendly and eye pleasing crowd having breakfast-chilaquiles. Full breakfast is served, and this is included in the low price. We made some new friends and planned to walk to the beach together. Breakfast was delicious and Jose was very attentive behind the bar serving drinks and preparing coffee.
Overall this hotel is very affordable, comfortable, friendly and located in a great area of town. It was laundry service, free internet and a vonage line to call the US, and this really came in handy. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone from a budget traveler to the more refined traveler, from the young to the life-experienced fellow.
