PINK CHOICE reserves the right to reject a review or to remove a review previously posted on the site if the review does not follow these general guidelines:

Reviews must be original
Reviews must be written by a paying guest, at least 18 years old, who has stayed at the specific hotel, inn or guesthouse. Reviews must be based on personal experience following a stay within the previous 3 months. They must be original and not sourced from any other site, printed material or from material quoted elsewhere.

PINK CHOICE will not knowingly publish a review written by owners or their employees posing as guests. Reviews will not be posted if they are based on hearsay, quotations from other sources, rumor or second hand stories. All reviews must be original and based on a reviewer's actual experience.

Similarly, PINK CHOICE will not post reviews if it is clear that they have been written at the behest of an owner for the reviewer's financial gain such as discounts, room upgrades, incentives, special treatment or gifts of any kind.

If a property is found to be offering such incentives in exchange for reviews, PINK CHOICE will remove the review(s) concerned and post the reason why the reviews were removed on the site.

Number of reviews
PINK CHOICE allows only one review per stay in a hotel, guesthouse or inn to be posted. PINK CHOICE has mechanisms in place that prevent multiple reviews from the same source. If a guest returns to a hotel at a later date, he or she may post an updated review with a further rating of that hotel as long as the return visit is more than 3 months from the date of the previous visit. When multiple reviews, conforming to Pink Choice guidelines, are submitted, the average of the rating scores from those reviews is used to calculate any changes in the property's rating.

Reviews must be helpful and informative
The intention of PINK CHOICE is to provide helpful and informed opinions for gay and lesbian travelers about gay friendly accommodations worldwide. As such reviews should reflect this.

Review language
A review will not be posted if it contains profanity, insulting or prejudicial remarks or comments; hate language or language considered to be defamatory, libelous, litigious or considered inappropriate to people seeking information about accommodation and related services. In addition, a review will not be posted if it contains details of any illegal activity or behavior.

PINK CHOICE is not an appropriate forum for political, religious, ethnic or ethical comments or opinions. Neither is it a site for posting comments about PINK CHOICE staff or representatives, other PINK CHOICE users, or property owners or their representatives.

Commercial website and/or email addresses
PINK CHOICE reserves the right to reject any self promoting commercial web address or email address or URL for any reason.

Email addresses
PINK CHOICE requires that all reviews be posted from a valid email address so that contact with the reviewer can be made if there are any queries or problems. If an email is found to be invalid, PINK CHOICE reserves the right to remove it from the site along with all reviews and the associated PINK CHOICE member.

Reviewer privacy
PINK CHOICE respects and values the privacy of each reviewer.

Writing a review
Because of the PINK CHOICE format, reviews should be written in upper and lower case as appropriate. Reviews written only in upper case or with HTML tags or inappropriate typographic symbols will not be accepted, neither will those lacking text or paragraph formatting.

Businesses to be reviewed At this time, PINK CHOICE will only accept reviews written about gay, lesbian and gay friendly accommodations. In the near future PINK CHOICE will expand to include other services catering to the gay and lesbian community. At that time PINK CHOICE will accept reviews appropriate to those businesses.
